When I aim my camcorder at a remote control, I can see the light coming out of the IR emitter when I push the buttons. Is it just my Panasonic, or does your camcorder pick up infrared too?
EVERY camera that uses a CCD sensor as for it’s image processing can pickup light that’s in and near the IR range.
It’s not just your camera, it’s every camera. And it’s not just that remote, but any bright IR light.
Although, somewhat unintended, the ability to see in the near-IR band is what allows cameras to operate in such low light, especially those cameras nowadays that use more than one CCD for its image processing.
Good eye, though, most people never notice that, much less know what it is, or why it’s caused.
