Hacking the Panasonic OmniMovie CamCorder

Upgraded the batteries to NiMH. It now takes 4 cycles to charge them, but they also last 4 times as long as the old batteries and the power curve is fairly flat. Couldn’t find a schematic for the strange video connector (or even a plug to fit it), but managed to find the video outputs and use it as a webcam with some trial and error (8 pins: only 56 [7*8] possible combinations of 2 wires to try). Select “composite” input on the TV card software (I’m using xawtv here.)

Eventually, I would like to get around to removing the IR filter and making it night vision capable.
