go to either recording or picture mode.
push the “manual af/mf” button.
Go to the menu.
Choose “basic”.
Go to “scene mode” and choose the correct mode.
The icons show which mode is what.

This camera uses .MOD file extension, not .MPEG – i have the camera. You can however, just rename the file (So insted of eg DSCF001.MOD, rename it to DSF001.MPG), and this works.
